                                      Artist Statement

My name is Sarah Howard and I was adopted when I was 2 days old. I was blessed with a family that taught me how to see everyone as equal, and that neither color nor sexual orientation could make one person better than the next. I was even taught to not kill bugs.  Throughout my life, freedom of speech and the love of everything around me has shaped me into the person I am today. I am both, a sculptor and an installationist; I thrive on feeling the art both physically and mentally. For the remainder of my senior year in college the negatve Societal views towards women have really taken my heart by storm. My art became something I had never imagined; it became a platform for my voice. Art is the purest sense of freedom. Through art I have found my strength to stand up for what I believe. I am truly blessed
